If you’re from the NJ shore or just wish you were, we’ve got a shirt for you!
Celebrate the humor of being from the Garden State with one of our retro tees, locally made at the NJ shore. “Tillie” is the name of the famous Asbury Park clown face (yes, he’s a guy with a girl’s name, but we won’t judge him), Tillie was originally on the famous Palace Amusements building, and now appears on the Wonder Bar on Ocean Avenue.
If you want to celebrate New Jersey, join us on Saturdays at Backward Glances, when we play our vintage 1959 AMI jukebox. We’ve loaded it with lots of New Jersey artists, from the early sixties sounds of the Shirelles, the Four Seasons and Lenny Welch. We’ve got the mid-sixties garage sounds like the Knickerbockers, the Myddle Class and Nancy Sinatra. Can’t forget the classic NJ shore sounds of Asbury Park with Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Sonny Kenn, Little Steven, Clarence Clemons, and Bruce Springsteen. The eighties are represented by such artists as Blondie, Bonjovi and the Smithereens. Dancing is encouraged!
